    PM Modi: Digital India makes technology more accessible

    Digital India Week 2022 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This Digital India Week has the theme Catalyzing New India’s Techade to transform the nation into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. After inaugurating Digital India Week 2022, PM Modi told a gathering that digital technology has made life so much easier for the youth of the 21st century. By switching to online, we eliminated the queue system.

    PM Modi: Digital India makes technology more accessibleA digital program called Digital India Bhashini was also launched to provide Indians with easy access to the internet and digital services in their native languages. A national deep-tech startup platform called Digital India GENESIS – Gen-next Support for Innovative Startups – was likewise launched by him. These schemes will cost 750 crore rupees in total. There is also a dedicated government scheme portal named MyScheme, which combines government schemes into one.

    The Digital India Week 2022 will showcase digital platforms like Aadhaar, UPI, Cowin and Digilocker, among others, that have made it easier for citizens to live their lives. This programme will bring together startups, government leaders, and experts from industry and academia. Indian unicorns and startups have set up an exhibition at Mahatma Mandir with more than 200 stalls. PM Modi also attended the exhibition, interacting with people connected to startups and unicorns.

    There will also be a three-day orientation program entitled India Stack Knowledge Exchange-Showcasing India’s Digital Products and Services during Digital India Week 2022. As PM Modi has stated, India is guiding the world through the fourth industrial revolution. Those countries that do not adopt modern technology with the passage of time are left behind by time. The third industrial revolution victimized India, but today we can proudly say that India is leading the fourth industrial revolution.

    With the Digital India campaign, PM Modi said India has set an example of how technology can revolutionize humanity. It has been eight years since the campaign was launched, and he expressed happiness that the campaign has improved with the changing times. Just 10 years ago, we had to wait in line for birth certificates, bills, rations, admissions, etc., but now everything is done online. During the last eight years, more than 23 lakh crore rupees have been transferred directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries. This technology has prevented 2 lakh 23 thousand crores of rupees in the country from falling into the wrong hands.

    A digital platform is used for the largest and most efficient COVID-19 vaccine and COVID-19 relief programs in the world. The government has transferred thousands of crores of rupees at a single click to bank accounts of women, farmers, and laborers. Over 80 crore countrymen have been provided free rations with the help of One Nation-One Ration Card. As a result of Digital India, Mr. Modi said, the country has been able to combat the COVID-19 pandemic to a remarkable extent.

    He said FinTech’s endeavors in India are truly solutions designed by people, for people. Indian digital technology will expand in many sectors including space, mapping, drones, gaming, and animation, he noted. In the coming years, provisions like IN-SPACe and the new drone policy will boost India’s tech potential.

    In the next three to four years, PM Modi said, India aims to reach $300 billion in electronic manufacturing. In his speech, he stated that India wants to become a chip maker rather than a chip taker. According to him, semiconductor production will increase as investment increases rapidly. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar also spoke on this occasion.
